LASER HAIR REMOVAL

A long-term solution for reducing unwanted hair on various parts of the body

ABOUT LASER HAIR REMOVAL

Laser hair removal is a cosmetic procedure that uses concentrated light energy to target and destroy hair follicles, preventing future hair growth. It’s a long-term solution for reducing unwanted hair on various parts of the body, including the face, underarms, bikini area, and more.

wHAT IT IS

The laser emits a specific wavelength of light that is absorbed by the pigment (melanin) in the hair. This light energy is converted into heat, which damages the hair follicle and inhibits or delays future hair growth. Since the laser targets pigment, darker hair absorbs more energy and responds best to the treatment, while lighter hair may be more challenging to treat.

Because hair grows in cycles, multiple sessions are required to effectively target all follicles during their active growth phase (anagen phase).

how it works

Before Treatment:

  • Avoid sun exposure, self-tanners, and waxing/plucking for a few weeks before treatment.

  • Shave the treatment area 24 hours before your appointment.

  • Avoid skincare products with active ingredients (like retinoids) on the treated area before the session.

During Treatment:

  • A cooling gel or device may be used to protect the skin and enhance comfort.

  • You may feel a slight snapping sensation, similar to a rubber band against the skin.

  • The length of the session depends on the area being treated - small areas like the upper lip may take only a few minutes.

After Treatment:

  • Mild redness and swelling are common but subside within a few hours to a day.

  • Avoid sun exposure, hot showers, and harsh skincare for a few days.

  • Hair in the treated area will gradually shed over the next few weeks.

  • Multiple sessions (typically 6–8) spaced 4–6 weeks apart are needed for optimal results.

Most people experience significant hair reduction, with finer and slower regrowth over time. Periodic maintenance treatments may be needed, but overall, laser hair removal offers a more permanent solution compared to shaving or waxing.
